My name is Maame Nhyira Yankyera, and I’ve always known I wanted to be a fashion designer
I used to make clothes for my dolls at six years old, cutting my dresses (and sometimes my siblings’) just to bring my little designs to life.
In 2016, I turned that childhood dream into a real brand: Manae Atelier.
From our small studio in Ghana, we began creating custom pieces for women who wanted something special, something made just for them. Every gown we made carried a story, and every stitch was done with love, care, and attention to detail.
Years later, after moving to the United States and becoming a wife and mother, I felt a shift. I wanted to create pieces that women could wear every day, pieces that still felt beautiful, intentional, and made with the same heart.
That’s how Manae Essentials was born, our ready-to-wear line under Manae Atelier. It’s for women who are evolving, rediscovering themselves, and showing up every day with quiet strength and style.
